Currypool Equestrian is a British Horse Society Approved Equestrian Centre, located in the heart of Somerset. Our state-of-the-art facilities and experienced staff provide a welcoming and safe environment for clients of all levels. Whether you are a beginner or experienced rider, we offer a range of services including lessons, training, events, and arena hire.

We coach clients from the age of 5 and have a riding weight limit of 12 stones, in line with industry guidelines, to ensure the welfare of our horses.
​​
Customers are also welcome to bring their own horses for lessons, events, and arena hire.

British Horse Society (BHS) Progressive Tests
Our BHS Progressive Tests allow clients to develop their skills in both stable management and riding as part of their regular lessons. The best part? You will not even realise you are being assessed.
Our coaches continuously monitor progress, and when you complete a level, you will receive a BHS certificate to recognise your achievement.

BHS Challenge Awards – Pathway to a Qualification
The BHS Challenge Awards are a fun and flexible way to develop practical skills in horse care, groundwork, and riding. Clients can progress through different levels at their own pace while earning certificates along the way. Complete the full Silver Level, and you will be eligible for direct entry into the British Horse Society Stage 2 Examination.

Changing Lives Through Horses (CLTH)
(7yrs old+)
​We are proud to offer the Changing Lives Through Horses program, developed by the British Horse Society (BHS). This initiative is designed to support young people who may be disengaged from education or facing personal challenges, helping them develop life skills, confidence, and a sense of achievement through equestrian activities.
​
Participants work towards a structured set of six key life skills—communication, confidence, responsibility, teamwork, personal achievement, and perseverance—while learning about horse care, riding, and stable management.
The program is mapped to the National Curriculum and Key Stages, ensuring that participants are gaining valuable skills that align with educational development. This helps young people progress both in and out of the saddle, providing an alternative learning environment that supports future opportunities in education and employment.
Additionally, participants aged 11+ have the opportunity to achieve a Personal Development Qualification (PDQ), a recognised certification that can support future career pathways in the equestrian industry and beyond.
